I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for exhaust work in the Yorkshire region.
I am looking for some electric cutouts to be welded just behind the balance pipe of my Monaro and then wired up and the rocker switch installed in the drivers armrest. I have the cutouts, the turn downs, the Y-Pipes and all the bolts and gaskets, I just need someone who can cut out a section of exhaust, weld the Y-Pipes in place and then wire it up.
I'm from Doncaster, so anywhere around here, but I also don't mind travelling up to Leeds (go to Uni there).
Preferably someone who might have done this sort of work before.

Chris I thought I had given details on where to get the job done before on the thread about cut outs. try TOPGEAR PERFORMANCE Green Lane Scawthorpe Doncaster, Tel No 01302 337722 and ask for Bret. He welded mine in and a good chap mention me and you may get a better deal.

Sorry Ade, forgot about that! Booked it in with TopGear for tuesday, mentioned they might ask you about routing the cables, but I think they resolved it after a look around.Ade

Can't wait!

Tuesday coming I think...I'm sure it was next week he said.
I see you have had them fitted from another thread I read. I would have thought that you would have problems fitting before cats as there is a sensor after cats on my 05 Monaro VXR. Glad to hear you are pleased with end result. A meet up is needed in October as I am busy this month.Ade

Definitely up for a meet, have to ring them up tomorrow though as they arent closing properly it would seem which is a bit frustrating, was going to go out for a drive, but a 1/4 open cutout isnt the quietest thing in the world to be leaving your street with. Ade

Chris like I said earlier, when closing, just stab at the switch with little taps until the flap is fully closed. do this with drivers window open so you can tell better when it is fully closed. Let me know after trying this as I think that is your problem.

I'll try it tomorrow, dont facncy my neighbours giving me an ear bashing this late! Could definitely be that, it opens fully fine so the motors are alright, tomorrow ill open it fully, then hold close for three seconds then stab it closed. Ade

Theoretically it should be as quiet as it was before i had them fitted right? It was just after they were fitted and closed.

Update, Did they close ok when tried after fitting was complete, if so you may have a issue with the cutouts getting too hot after driving for a while as you have fitted them before the cats and too close to the manifold.
Ade
Yeah they were fine after fitting, and after about 10 mins of driving.Ade

Went out after the car had been off for about 6 hours and they wouldn't close the way I was doing it with the switch, they would open just fine, just not close fully. Like you say It might just be me.
If not, it could be a wire lose (one of the wires I was sent was broken and had to have a wire welded in its stead). Could the bangs from being pre cat have damaged the cutouts you think?
