Another run out, May? Far North maybe?
Discussion
As something a little different to the admittedly great roads not far from Leeds/York, theres a cracking route we did once a few years ago in a big group, starting a bit further out near Scotch corner. The route goes into County Durham and I think just about breaks into Northumberland on some great roads, a chunk of which is open, well sighted, good fun. Theres a couple of decent stopping places for a break and a few places near the end (near Barnard Castle maybe?) to get some breakfast.
If anyone fancies it, it would be ideal for another meet up and drive out. Meet time would be sufficiently early, to allow clean thoroughfare and home for lunch time to appease the wifes/kids etc. Date TBC, make your suggestions. Usual applies - its not a race, drive safe, dont make a racket through villages and wait for who ever is behind you at junctions, and enjoy it.
I will be either in my MX-5 or whatever I replace it with (its up for sale). I'm happy to lead and I have one of Mark H's old marked up maps I can share before hand.
Alternative start points/route ideas also welcome, could go from York over the NYM, go up chimney bank, maybe go for fish and dirks at the seaside instead.
Anyone?
