Any recommendations? Particularly if they have experience of TVRs/Loti/fibreglass cars.

If Barnsley isn't too far, Central Garage in Birdwell is highly recommended - just of J36 M1

A few people from the Lotus owners groups recommended it to me and they did a first class job on my VXR8.

There is one person that I can recommend without hesitation Phil.

Chris Gregory in Knaresborough. He does a lot of TVRs and Ferraris, he runs a rather extreme T350C. He did a superb job on the Z a couple of months ago and he now has it back in after I gave it a biffed nose in the car park on top of the Furka Pass!

He is on holiday this week but back on Monday. From earlier threads...

And rightly so. Here is my recent experience of Chris.

He is based just outside Knaresborough and very easy to get to. I would happily entrust my Testarossa to his care and, while I was there he had a Ferrari California in and some other very expensive cars.

May not be what you need if you are looking at mobile dent people, but certainly recommended for proper body/paint work. Good luck and let us know how you get on smile

Chris used to be HHC's painter and I was more than happy with the work he did on my Tuscan a while ago.

Another thumbs up for Chris. Did a cracking job with front end respray/headlight conversion on mine and the price wasn't bad either. The cars that are in there are a good advert for his services.

Phil, have you decided what colour? If it happens to be Isotope let me know and I'll maybe have a couple of bits (side pod and splitter) that could do with a respray at the same time.

Hi Andy. I'm going a bespoke colour rather than a Lotus colour I'm afraid mate. I'm sure to get those bits done it wouldn't be a lot in isotope though?

Can't imagine it'll be much to get them done. It was more the motivation of actually getting off my arse and sorting it all out biggrin . I'll probably wait till winter is over and deal with all the road rash at the same time.

What colour you getting done?

Someone on PH recommended Station Road Bodyshop ( 01132 875010 ) in Kippax sometime ago. I took my wife's car there for a quote as some kind person had scuffed the front bumper and wheel arch in a car park and driven off. I was a little sceptical at first as their quote was much less than my usual bodyshop. After talking to the owner, I found out that he mainly does work for the Motor Trade including Ginetta Cars and therefore their pricing reflects this.

I was very pleased with the work they did ( I am vary anal when it comes to my cars condition) and my car is booked in next week to have the front end painted to rectify the stone chips.

On the 3 times I have visited their premises, there have been a cross section of cars - from New Ginetta's, Bentley Conti & Porsche Gt3 & Turbo etc to VW's BMW's, Nissan, Fords and Van's etc. The also had a couple of classics - Merc SL & AC Cobra ( Dax I believe ).
