Alfa run out prior to NAD
Discussion
Anybody in the area with an Alfa who fancies a run out on Saturday is welcome to come along to AROC's pre NAD run on saturday night.
This is in advance of National Alfa Day, which this year is being held at Newby Hall near Ripon on Sunday 12th.
The plan is to meet up at about 16.30 at the Black a Moor Pub, between Ripon and Boroughbridge then drive up Wensleydale to the Chippy at Hawes and back over the moors to Buckdon, Grassington, Pately Bridge and back to the Black A Moor for a drink.
If anybody wants any more details drop me an email via the PM system
PS... we might be open to other interesting vehicles too....

Hi Ian,
As you're into your Alfas', I thought you might be able to help me.
I've just got back from our family jollies in Spain and last year we noticed a Veloce Sprint kicking around that looked fantastic. Anyway, this year I managed to have a chat with the owner and a sniff round it. Having spent it's life in a warm climate it looked to be in great condition (it was dark when we were looking at it) and I was trying to persuade the guy to sell it to me. However, he wasn't having any of it but it doesn't mean to say I won't ask him again next year if I see him.
So, my qustion to you is what would be the right price to pay for one of these? It's red and has cloverleaf badges, registered in 1986 and with very low mileage, guessing only around 10k km on the speedo and of course, it's LHD. It's had refreshed and lowered suspension and some fancier alloy wheels fitted. No idea on the service history but the guy did tell me he bought it off an old lady in Mallaga last year for only 1500 euros with only 3000km on the clock. A nice find if you ask me.
Let me know if you think I'd be better off posting in the Alfa forum if you can't help.
Cheers,
Leigh.

Hi Leigh, a 1986 Car would be a Sud Sprint Veloce, nice little FWD Coupe with the flat four engine. They aren't particularly thick on the ground these days as most have dissolved (rust proofing wasn't good on the Sud based models) so a well looked after one from a dry climate would be a good find.
Not really sure about values to be honest, I'd guess it's worth about 5k tops, they aren't valued as high as the earlier 105 Cars.
Alfaowner is probably the best place to check what I've said as there is a reasonable amount of people on their running Suds and Sprints.
If I were you I'd go for it though, I'm sure you would have a barrel of laughs as Sud's and Sprint's are renown for being brilliant to drive and the Sprint in particular looks great to me.

I'm doubtful he'll sell it to be honest but you never know.
I remember back when we'd passed our driving tests, my mate used to have a 1.5 Sud and it was a right hoot. But like you, I love the look of the Sprint.
If owt happens, I'll let you know.
Tax ran out December 1990.... so yes I'd say it's in that great Alfa Car Park in the sky
.
By the way I think a Testarossa would qualify as an interesting Car, so we might let you in on our little saturday night run if you like, Alfa and (Enzo) Ferrari do have a bit of History together after all
