Before I ring one of the guys from the local business directory, does anyone have any recommendations for someone in Harrogate that can take a look at the DVD system in the Range Rover please? It is being a bit temperamental.

Thanks,
al

You could give my mate Shane a call if you want Al. He's an mobile auto sparky in York and would be more than happy to pop over or even offer a bit of advice over the phone, which may help.

Do you believe there is an ato electrician in Yorkshire brave enough to take on an intermittently tempremental Peugeot?

Cheers Leigh. I'd rather just find someone local who I can just drop it off with and have it fixed. Your mate would need to cover his travelling expenses, not unreasonably. smile

Fair point Al, but he's still on the end of a phone if you need any help that way.

I don't know, I've never heard of them. Have you used them for this type of work before?

Bought some speakers from them, that is all, their forte is in car entertainment and mobile phone kits.

Apparently nobody "mends" things anymore. They just chuck it and get a new one. Which on a Range Rover DVD stacker system I don't much like the sound of!

Massively peed off. I can now see that somehow, the changer has managed to get two DVDs at once stuck together half way between the payer and the stacker cassette.

No-one will even look at it. they just say, sorry, it's a fibre optic system specific to Range Rover, we'll just take it out and send it off.

It's not a fibre optic issue though. It is just having someone that can extract the two bloody DVDs!

Give Shane a call, he may know someone or be able to take it apart himself.

I left a message on his phone Leigh thanks. However, I am taking it over to Michael (Talkwrench) on Monday. He is an electronics engineer amongst other things and was perplexed why no-one could at least un-jam the DVDs.

Fingers crossed smile
