Hi,

I'm trying to see how much more a month it would cost to get the wife another car and drive to work in Leeds from Harrogate compared to taking the train.

She works next to the Yorkshire post building and would need it within decent walking distance of that.

Anybody know of a cheap carpark??

Thanks in advance!

There are a few cheap, all-day ones, down Whitehall Road. I think they range from around £6 per day to £3, getting cheaper as they get further from the city centre. Some of them do monthly offers, where if you pay for a months parking in advance you get a reserved spot and some discount.

There's a council one just opposite the Yorkshire Post building but I have no idea of its costs.

The council have also just opened a new one on Kirkstall road next to the Snooker hall too. Again I have no idea of the price but since it's not in the city centre so to speak, it may be quite reasonable.

I'd have a look at the costs of getting the No. 36 bus too. It's a limited stop service which gets you to and from Leeds in a fairly reasonable time. Okay it's still a bus but it's one of the better ones, with nothing but new ones on the route, with comfy (well, fake) leather seats, loads of leg-room and even Wi-Fi.

Globe Road £4 per day (even cheaper if you take out a years contract).
I know many town centre business' that have moved from swanky and expensive car parks to this in order to save money. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the YP.

I think LCC had to rethink their decision.
