"A message from North Yorkshire Police. Overnight on the 16/17th October, two separate dwellings were subjected to a burglary in the Rossett area where access was gained through the back door before their high performance vehicles were taken from the drive using the keys. Please ensure you are vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour in the area, in addition to ensuring vehicles are parked within garages where appropriate. For any further security advice, please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood department on 101."

There were also reports/rumours of four wheel drive vehicles being targeted in Harrogate last month. Harrogate is blessed and cursed with wealth and a low crime rate, and I think there are many with lots of money but no realisation of the criminals in neighbouring towns and cities.

Next door had an attempted break in to get keys to their 4x4 a couple of months back.
I've changed my locks to anti drill, snap, pick units after a local locksmith stated that my existing locks would be easy to pick. £90 well spent I think.
If they get though the doors somehow and disregard the alarm, than they will be introduced to Mr Beretta 92FS

Only CO/2 powered but pretty much identical to the original.

It's been going on in Harrogate for some time now, yes it's those Wessies coming up and doing the thieving. Friend in Burn Bridge had his Audi A3 taken this way a few months back.

Yup, my current shed is parked at the bottom of the drive and blocked in by the K11 Micra of win. Then again if someone broke in and wanted the keys it would probably make sense to hand them over since they would probably be tooled up.

Unfortunately its so easy to get into many houses by just snapping the locks off!
As Tonto said a few quid well spent.

I've seen how easy the euro locks are to break, what abot normal doors with traditional keys? Are they secure or are there simple methods for those as well?

I've lived in Harrogate all my life and its always happened, I used to live on Kent Road and the amount of times you'd have someone wandering down your drive 'sorry mate wrong house'.

Wooden door with mortice locks? Most often just gets kicked through, frame will give way.

Not sure what "what"? refers to but I'm guessing the mention of 100% Eurolocks?

If so, what I think Gemini means is they don't bother with kicking the old style doors in as it makes too much noise, therefore, nearly all the burglaries focus on Eurolocks as they are quiet and quick to break through.

Ahh right. It is a common MO, but not that exclusive.

It is mainly due to properties with expensive cars on the drive also usually having doors fitted with euro profile locks.

Around a quarter of burglaries involve an insecure door/window - madness

And if that doesn't stop them, then I'll get my Daystate Mk4 out.
