Hi all smile I have got a clio race car that I race in the CSCC Tintops and have got a major rebuild on my hands over winter. I was wondering if anyone on here is a welder and could do some work for cash in their spare time? There are some little jobs like welding some seat rails in, welding a plate in to relocate the gearstick and welding some small holes in the bulkhead. Also looking to modify the front suspension turrets but just need someone who can weld to a good standard as I have never touched a welding machine in my life.

Please let me know if you can help or if you can recommend someone smile

Thanks in advance
James Ashton

Try Rob Griffiths (RG Race Engineering) in Otley. http://www.rgraceengineering.com/

He's in a small unit on Bradford Road (A6038) opposite Marshalls builders merchant, just down the road from Otley tip.

Thanks for that he sounds ideal and really handy for me in Ilkley smile I will get on the phone tomorrow and see what he thinks!

I'm also in need of some fabrication work and some welding on my car too. I have previously used this chap:

http://www.wizbangfabrication.co.uk/

I have been most impressed with his workmanship however, he is now booked out for some time frown

Therefore I am trying to find someone local i.e. Leeds/Bradford ideally.

Of those two recommended garages, would I be right in assuming you have used them and can vouch for their work?

Thanks

Try track torque near tockwith. Bit far out but they are excellent and mainly deal in race cars. I can't recommend them enough.

Don't mean to high-jack your thread OP.

I am seeing RG tomorrow for some welding and fabrication work for my track/fast road car.

Sounds promising. Will post some feedback up after my visit.

Another thumbs up for Rob at RG, he's done work on my cars to a very high standard.

Should be some website when it's done as it's been 'under construction' for over 2 years biggrin

A big thanks to all those who suggested Rob at RG-engineering. Indeed you were all correct smile

It's a total coincidence that the OP posted this thread up, so a nod in your direction too chap.

I was about to post exactly the same thing too.

RG - I popped down there today to check Rob's work and I have to say it was top quality. He gave me plenty of time to ask questions and have a look around the workshop. I felt re-assured that this man is very skilful and easily up to the job.

He was working on some nice machines there too wink

I shall be taking my car there hopefully mid December. Needless to say this has saved me alot of time and hassle. My car has made numerous trips to the outskirts of York and has cost me a small fortune in the build.

Using RG has seriously helped me to move my project forward.

If anyone is considering using Rob then I can vouch for his skill and workmanship.

Thanks chaps smile
