Where is a fair place to get an MOT done.

Hear lots of stories of cars going in and developing mysterious problems that the garage can fix for £££.

Just after somewhere that does an honest job.

Current MOT lasts till Friday.

I use Toll Bar in Garforth.

Had 4 or 5 cars done there now, only fail was only a few weeks back. A lower arm on a 206 as the ball joint is knackard which is über common on them. I suppose on a 10 year old French car they could of come up with a long list!

Other than that. You could use the leeds council MOT station which is just off the A64 near the town centre.

I'd second toll bar in Garforth as my family have been using them for years.

I've also used Briggate Garage in Hunslet a few times and they've always been very straight to deal with.

Go see Mark at Bramley MoT Centre. Known him for about 15 years and he's as sound as they come. He only does MoTs so no interest in 'creating' faults. He's at the back of Wilco Motosave on Stanningley Rd - same building, single roller shutter door on the back left corner.

There's also the Harrogate Council MOT station on Claro Road. They do MOT's only so not interested in failing unless it's a genuine fail item.

Leeds City Council MOT centre is on York Rd I believe.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I had already booked into Toll Bar before you posted All That Jazz otherwise i would have given him a go.

Had the MOT done earlier, seems to be a sound car, just a slight judder on the rear brakes as the only advisory.

So i'll have a look at them when i give the car a service shortly.

So i'm happy with the outcome and i'm happy to take my car to Toll Bar in the future.

Think that the going rate for a non-subsidised test.

I've used these guys this year- http://www.global-autocare.co.uk/maintenance.htm
Was very happy with the level of service. We use them for lease cars but more than a few people from the company have used them for their MOT's.
£35 for the MOT and they give your car a quick wash and vac if its needed.

Well took it to Central today.. (was £50, or should I say, is) Car was doing well, passed emissions etc, then I look over and theres a huge cloud of steam and the bloke is shouting "Turn it off!" Coolant hose had split dropping coolant everywhere which led to a vacuum hose going for some reason. Needless to say they didn't manage to finish. Car is now sat there as it wont run properly even though we managed to bodge the hose so it wont leak. Really top guys for helping me out mind! Shame about the hose..

If you're near the University then go to Moorland Garage in Moorland avenue. They are a proper garage and very honest. I've used them for MOT's for the last 4 years.
Have a look at the cars stashed inside the garage.

Miles away from any of the places mentioned above but worth giving praise when it's due so I may as well chip in. I've been using Morley MOT Centre for the past few years and they've always been really good. They aren't stupid with the fails either. £35 for the MOT and their normal garage prices for work are decent.
