I was the OP. I got an email last week saying it got killed as someone was advertising something. Certainly wasn't me bit confused really.

Interestingly I had a thread deleted in the Porsche forum when I was trying to give away a valid Swiss Vignette from this years road trip as someone had reported it as an advert.

To be fair Leigh, I did give you a suggestion of how to re-word it as it was not obvious that you were just offering to give it away. As far as I know you never re-posted.

For the others that think the mods remove things just for a jolly as we have nothing else to do - nine times out of ten, it is one of you guys that has pressed the report button. Once that button has been pressed, it needs to be acted on, on the basis of one rule for all. We do try to keep some level of reason where we can, but not everyone sees this.

Right, I'll now go and try and find out what happened to the spotted thread as it does seem odd that it was totally removed. I would guess not by stupidity or heavy handedness, but by accident.

You did mate but time got away from me and never got round to sorting out another thread.

My comments were aimed at the report addicts who hit the button rather than asking for some clarification, in this instance in my not too well spelt out offer.

And I'll say thanks again for the advice and offer to help out when I contacted you about it

Ok - it has caused a bit of scratching of heads and shrugged shoulders. It appears it was simply a glitch and, the whole thread was not intended to be deleted. It is now back and all is well in our little bit of the world... for now
