Not cheap? they're £40 and they take less than 5 minutes to change over. I'd say that's pretty cheap to prevent what is a VERY easy way of getting into a property in a matter of seconds.7 sets of keys? Why on earth...?
Anyway decent security eurolocks are available from £17 with keys £6 each after the 3 included

could also justify another as Car No 2 set of keys, Ive gone out of the house before now with keys for the toy and locked myself out. Fortunately not for long.
Seems the locks are more readily available now - when I got mine a few years ago there was only really one manufacturer that was doing them.

The most difficult part of fitting is making sure you get the right size unit.
I did find when fitting mine that the hardened anti pull grips foul on the shroud inside the door handle so I have left it off for now and just need to file out a bit of the metalwork so that they fit inside.
I paid £40 for Yale BS unit from Screwfix and it came with three keys.

Its one screw to undo and refit.
Screw is on the door edge, unscrew that and it just slides out. The screw lines up with the bottom of the lock. You may need to twiddle the key to line up the 'latch'.
Where the screw goes into the lock is one of the reasons why the euro locks are a problem. Cos of the design there is very little metal around the screew and its this area that snaps when they do lock snapping.
The antibump and antisnap locks are usually one way fit (with standard euros it doesn't really matter) so you need to tell them when ordering which is the outside measurement.

Well I've bought another car and turned my house into a fortress.
The ins co sent me a letter saying my policy was cancelled, and if I wanted to reinstate on another car to call them. I thought that if the car was written off that was the end of the policy?
I had expected to have to pay for another years policy but I rang them and they said it would be £30 for the new car? Is this until the car is officially written off or for the rest of the year?
I only renewed the insurance a week before it got nicked
