Leeds inner loop closed tonight?

Passing through, saw 14 police vehicles, at least 6 ambulances. Inner loop closed in both directions, plus the flyover up towards Headingley /university - anyone know what happened? Nothing on radio Leeds....

They are doing bridge strengthening work on the inner ring road (A58) every saturday and sunday night until march. This will involve some temporary closures too and a least one lane closed in each direction for the next few weekends. It covers clay pit lane and the turn off up to woodhouse.

You mentioned there were quite a few ambulances though, so it sounds as if perhaps a worker has been hit??

It was very closed, multiple diversions by police, many police vans, etc...

It did say on the traffic last night that there was a serious incident...

ohh no....It was caused by a man that had jumped off the woodhouse bridge to the A58 ring road below....Very sad.

He actually landed on one of the cars passing below (a toyota avensis), killing himself and injuring the driver of the car too.
