"Dark blue 911 through centre of Leeds today", to my mind anyway, isn't worth the server space.
I guess it all depends on what you are used to seeing out of the window each morning, to some of us spotting a hot hatch can be an event when all you are used to is an elderly piece of white goods
Perhaps we just need to make the descriptions more interesting / detailed if we don't have a pic?
I do get your point though, at first I thought this was for spotting fellow PHers but as I am yet to see any away from an organised meet I guess this would be a fairly slow thread of that was the case.

It would be nice if this year we had quality over quantity and, pics if possible. "Dark blue 911 through centre of Leeds today", to my mind anyway, isn't worth the server space.
Unless of course it's Leigh, then that is totally acceptable
That reminds me of the "2 Ferrari's & a camper van" comment at the ferry to Le Mans, with the Grey 911 and Tango'd Exige with 2 cross dressing trannies on board didn't even register with the giffer loading the ferry.Unless of course it's Leigh, then that is totally acceptable

But this is Pistonheads Michael, we should try to raise the bar

This was as said, originally about spotting fellow PHers, it then went on to really cool out of the ordinary cars. Now it seems to be Grey Aston, white 911, cool M3 and so on.
Now if it was a 90's V8 Vantage, or a 930-911, or a 3.0 CSL, then that would be different

I think that's the thing, for some people seeing a 911 might be rare but for others it's a daily occurrence so becomes the norm. The guy who parks next to me where I live owns a Merc C63 AMG and his brother a GTR, plus a friend has a GTR so I see them quite often and in Sheffield Porsche's, M3s etc are quite common. But stuff like a GT3 is quite rare to see
