Just a word of warning
Discussion
Be careful out there today, chums.
I know we all like to think of ourselves as driving gods but I've just seen 3 cars go off together. Nothing any of them could have done.
Worth a check on the oldies too. We may all be wealthy car collecters but a lot of old folk struggle to keep warm with today's utility prices. Put in a call/visit to those you know.

Proper dump here in Leeds overnight.
You must be snowed in up there in Sheepbotherville...
One does not get snowed in with a Range Rover you cheeky scamp. Especially not one with its original 18'' wheels and knobbly tyres on in place of the 20's You must be snowed in up there in Sheepbotherville...

Just measured 22cm in the back garden. Road is an inch of ice, 10cm snow, half an inch of crust. Can't wait to get out there!

No, instead we get hassled by our neighbours to tow them out of the road you live in, even though said neighbours are noisy
s and give you and the missus evils every time you wave at them. Then you have to go and sit in a queue of traffic, and if you try and nip down a snowy side road you have all the pedestrians walking in the slush down the middle of the road. Once you get out onto the country roads you get stuck behind a Fiesta on summer tyres trying to get up a 1 in 6 hill and if you overtake the car coming down the hill 1/2 a mile away decides to turn their main beams on and give you the "wrist exerciser" motion as you go past them (even though you were out of their way with 600 yards to go ...). Finally once you get to the motorway you see the outer lane is empty and has plenty of traction for your "snow mode, winter tyres, 4wd and multiple locking diffs" so you get out there, out of peoples way, only to have a 2wd Lexus Hybrid slither out in front of you and drive at 45mph while all the lorries and other cars undertake him so you can't get out of the 3rd lane. Still at least when I got to Sheffield people were driving normally, which was a shock to the system indeed!TheAllSeeingPie said:

Am I the only person on Pistonheads who sees snow as an undesired opportunity to have an accident, rather than a chance to show off his sideways brilliance?
Yes. Now hand in your PH smiley badges and go off to the BRAKE forums!

Only joking. I don't care what people get up to in empty car parks as long as they drive sanely on the roads.
Can anyone tell me if it is still snowing in Leeds at the moment? I drove over to the office I work at this morning to be kicked out at 11am and told to work from home.
I am wondering if its still coming down as heavy as it was this morning? (ready for my commute from Doncaster to Leeds again tomorrow early morning.)

The snow is thick on un-gritted roads. Most of the ring road is reasonably clear although some of the traffic islands are reduced to one lane. Snow is coming down still, but it's a light sparse icing sugary type snow that would take a couple of years to coat anything ...I am wondering if its still coming down as heavy as it was this morning? Got cocky and had the van stuck on the flat this afternoon. And as much as I love the snow, I'm sort of glad I'm leaving it behind tomorrow. It's only good fun when you have it all to yourself really.

Take it easy with the full lock handbrake turns with the Legnum, the steering pump has a tendency to go pop My first time with 4wd (Mitzy Legnum) this year and it's amazing the difference. The 4wd is pretty good, kept me out of trouble in the snow a few years back despite being on low profile 18" summer rubber. Also if anyone feels like having a bit of a fun in the West Park centre car park (the larger one on the side) then keep an eye out for the old bill. Got a b
king for doing a few handbrake turns in there a couple of nights ago, despite the car park being empty and the building being shut
