scamera tax coming?

North Yorkshire police commissioner has published her 'plan'. Not a very impressive document which seems to be mainly vague objectives. However, one point likely to be of interest to PH readers:

Long term sustainability and financial support for the 95Alive Road Safety Partnership by reinvesting income generated from the road safety camera vans to target drivers and other road users with effective safety information as well as enforcing road offences. Outcomes: a continued reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.

Problem with North Yorkshire is a lack of TrafPol on the actual road spotting bad driving.

Speed is in my view not a huge issue generally. It's the bad drivers that worry me on most roads, I just dare not even assume I can go around a corner these days without some idiot driving at a steady pace but down the middle of the bloody road!
