Good photoshoot locations in Sheffield/Barnsley/Rotherham

Now that the weather is starting to pick up a little I can actually give the car a scrub and get out with my camera.

I know a few places for natural type shoots, so I'm looking for Modern/Built Up/Industrial type locations in or around Sheffield/Barnsley/Rotherham that I can get my car (and maybe some others) in to for some nice shots.


I'm thinking I could check it out and get some snaps and then if its decent maybe get a mini photoshoot/meet going and bring along a brew, some doughnuts and a camera or two?

Can't think of anywhere. Tried a similar thing last summer and anytime we found a quiet corner to take some snaps, a local security bod would pop up and move us on.

Might be interested in tagging along though, but I don't know one end of a camera from another

We use an industrial unit near Rother Valley. I'll try and find it on Google maps later.

Could have a look at the Attercliffe/ Attercliffe Road area in Sheffield.

If the trains from Doncaster come into Sheffield near there, it looks quite Induistrial.

No problem, be sure to post the results! There is a security guard, bit he normally sits in corner and scowls unless you're doing something daft.

If I think of anywhere else i'll let you now. If you have a camera car there are some epic car to car shots to be had on lower level Tinsley viaduct.

Good shout. Depending on car the state of the roads might be a bit of an issue!

Well I got some pics taken, but didn't drive to Rother Valley in the end. Found a few OK locations around Barnsley, Sheffield and Wakefield instead. Pics posted on thread below:

Argh, sorry guys. Completely forgot to come back in here and check on this thread (I really struggle with this forum!).

sound like there were some good recommendations, but I can't see the pics of the one near Rother Valley. I work just round the corner so that might be perfect.

Any more ideas welcome
