When you want a new leather sole putting on a shoe who do you use?

I just rang Craggs (they seem to be good, although I don't really know what is good not being a cobbler!)

They want £52 - That sounds a bit salty to me! This is the Yorkshire forum after all!

Fifty two quid!?!? No personal experience other than the last time I had it done was about 10 years ago and it cost less than £20.

For a full leather sole? Guess it depends how much the original shoes cost as to the value/cost of a repair.

they are a pair of Oliver Sweeney brogue detail slip-ons that have have covered some miles! Now the cost is about 250 to 275 I believe.

I'm looking to buy a pair of Loakes too and they stock them so could be an opportunity to get a discount off them.

One day I hope to have enough money to travel Alan Bennett class.

If you are on the East side try Garforth Cobbler on Main Street. They did a really good repair on a pair of my wife's sandals that our German Shepherd had "modified".

Where about is it on the Main Street? I'm in Garforth and the wife needs her boots re-healing.. Never knew there was a place!

The guy in Garforth is brilliant. The cobblers is near the bottom of Main Street next to la bella vita. Used him lots, he always goes above an beyond. Prices are fine too
