Garages with Mercstar/Winstar near York

[DMN]

I've got a reoccurring fault on my car and need to get the code read properly. Does anyone know of any garages near to York who will be able to give my car a quick scan? (baring the obvious one of Merc themselves...).

The fault is P2012 Intake Manifold Runner Control Circuit Low, if anyone happens to have any experience with it.

Maybe worth trying Sam at ForSmart. He's mobile but based in York.

I'd thought of ForSmart, but they stopped trading for a short while, and now I think their based near Hull. From what others have said, their not as easy to get hold of these days either.

Worth a try though.

I use Steve, being local to myself - but nearer to York you might also want to check out www.rhautoservices.co.uk
Not used him myself but met him at Mercedes Club events - seems a genuine knowledgeable guy.

Pickering is a slight detour on the way home, so I'll try them first. If not I'll try RH.

I didn't realise he'd moved and I see he now charges call out on top at a quid a mile. Looks like someone else will be sorting my roadster in future...

Thats part of the reason I'm asking with them gone the way they have, there's a real lack of Smart specalists this side of the pennines.

Well after talking to a receptionist who didn't seem to know what she was talking about, and claims that it will take three hours to do (a simple scan we're talking about here). I'll take my car else where.

I sent him an email and he was helpful in his reply, but said he does not have a WinStar/MercStar machine.
