Navigational Scatter 8 May
Discussion
Wakefield and District Motorsports Club are running a Nav Scat on the above date.
It starts in South Elmsall and finishes in Wakefield and you should expect to cover about 60 miles during the evening, starting around 8pm. You'll need to be there for about 7pm to sign on and plot the route.
There's no restrictions on the cars you use, preferably a nice family road car which doesn't stand out too much would be preferable.
You will need a copy of map 111, (OS Landranger Series 1 : 50,000 with the pink cover and some way of plotting map references such as a ruler or Romer.
For those who don't know what a Nav Scat is, you get a list of map references and you can visit up to 75% of them in any order you see fit and be at the finish within a designated time. At each reference there is a clue to answer to prove you've visited it. You will be awarded points for correct answers and the one with the most points is the winner. A few extra little twists to make it more interesting and rest assured, the clues are not at the side of the A1 so you will have some interesting roads to traverse.
There will be some prizes and if you wish, you can get points towards the Wakefield & DMSC Club Championship which includes autotests, car trials and possibly other navigational events throughout the year.
Please reply with an email address or PM me for official regulations. It's an MSA permit event and the entry fee is a fiver to cover permit and insurance costs.
