Borders Hooning Weekend July 13/14th

Just wanted to share a driving weekend I'm planning.
Basic plan:
Meet Saturday morning at 8.00am Tesco York (Clifton Moor) car park. Blast up the motorway to then hoon the Scottish borders. BBQ at Kielder then hoon back accross and down the western side of the Lake district to finish at the hotel in Kendal. Evening food/beer. Sunday head the fun way through the Dales for lunch in Richmond before cutting down accross the Moors to York.
So basically the best of Northumberland, Lake District, Dales and Moors in two days.
Weekend is completely flexible. If you already live further north then feel free to meet us en route. You can do just the Saturday or Sunday without staying over. We have booked the Premier Inn in Kendal but you can stay where you like.

That road is the A832 leading to Loch Maree in the Western Highlands - don't think he's heading that far north on this weekend!

definitely not the Borders although it is one of my favoured routes when I'm back in the homeland.

Much obliged sir.....I'll have to dig out my atlas and work out where best to meet you guys......on what day will you be closest to say skip ton or Harrogate or thereabouts?.....I'm from Bradford so am assuming you will pass these places at some point...or maybe I should join you on day one and head home after hon session one on my tod.....Need to learn some good roads now that I've finally got a proper car....

Do you want to meet in York or wetherby services? This looks like a fantastic trip! Great effort on taking the plunge and organising something. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend as I'm on a stag do in Dublin for those dates otherwise I'd have loved to of come. I'll come on the next one though. Would you please post route/pics etc after?
