I'm in the process of retiring my old Porsche 944 from daily duties and turning it into a full on rally car.

I've got a few jobs that I can't do myself and so I will need to pay people money to do it for me.

Naturally I thought of PH. So, if anyone has the ability/talent and interest in doing the following I'd be very happy to have a chat.

1) Underbody protection. I need a sump guard, a guard over the starter motor and a transaxle/gearbox guard at the back. There are no ready made options so would need to be made bespoke.

2) Electrics. I need the front pop up lights completely rewiring and taking a more direct feed as they're only gettinG about 9v. Also wiring prep for a 4 light 'pod' which will be going on the front. Also a full electrical cut-off (I have the parts.)

3) Rollcage. Actually a half cage bespoke made, a loop over b-pillar/roof/b-pillar and support struts backwards. Doesn't need to have MSA/FIA eligibilty as I road rally, not stage. This is just belt and braces. Wants welding in, not bolting.

Those are the main jobs, some more will follow I'm sure.

Anyone keen in discussing just drop me a PM, would be good to give the work to someone off the forum. I don't have a massive budget but am willing to pay for quality work.

ETA - I'm near Skipton. Local = good but not essential wink

Good point, thanks. In fact I think I did a test at their place on the Jubilee last year.

If you can get the car down to East Yorks Ben I can do the wiring, fused thick power and earth Cable direct to front of car, relay and junction box to allow fitment of accessory lights etc. Later.

I can also do the sump guards, framed guards either out of steel or ally, with access points for oil changes. Having 944s myself I know the floor shape and I can do a pretty nice job of tying the front and rear guards in to the floor area to make a semi flat floor. I realise the cars never going to hit the speeds that a flat floors going to give you the real downforce benefits, but the smoother the underneath the easier it will pass over obstacles.

Oliver,

That was absolutely positively the kind of reply I was hoping for. You legend thumbup

I could get down to you for a day no problem, when suits?

Also, can you drop me a PM with the cost of;

A) the electrical work
B) the misc underbody protection in alu

Assume the guards would take a while and you could possibly 'measure up' while doing the electric work and I could come back when done? Also can I watch and make drinks while you do the electrics so I can maybe learn something?!

Really chuffed, ta!

Ben

On it's way Ben, should be able to do it in a day to be honest.

You see, this is why I never finish anything. I'm just tired from reading the list of jobs that need doing.
Sigh.

Hey Jimmy, I'm looking for someone to spend hours and hours swearing and stripping contact adhesive off the interior if you want a 'fun' project in return for some cash.

Apologies if your post was only in jest smile
