Just been around the ring road (A1237) to find a gritter in amongst the traffic spraying stone chippings in multiple layers FFS.

A couple of weeks ago they had an attempt at doing it properly, rolling the road and sweeping up afterwards. Clearly it is an utterly pointless waste of time as days later it had all lifter. Now they seem to have resorted to just dumping gravel and using the traffic to roll it furious

Why is it our council can close useful services (like our tip) and then throw the money down the drain on pointless tat like gypo sites, closing bridges over the river and chucking stone on the road.

tts!

I read an article about surface dressing once. It suggested the technique may look shoddy but that it was actually quite effective.
Maybe not without bias?
I know it's effective at destroying my paint and glass, and these downpours really screw up the process.

There is no substitute for doing it properly in tarmac however that is expensive these days (oil based product) and of course causes mega congestion whilst they shut down the road. Still my preference though!

TX.

PS I hit a pothole the other day so large I thought the car was going to fking break in two mad

But they shut the road the first time around at about 7.30 on the evening and caused chaos in all directions.

They have been laying stone with gritters where the roads have been melting recently.

Don't worry when they close Lendal Bridge and impose a blanket 20mph in the city limits, traffic will flow much better!

If your on Facebook follow the group called 'Things people from York don't say' it's good for a bit of Sarcasm.

Like yesterday when they closed the roads surrounding bishop hill for the running.

No notice for residents, no alternative free parking, and no exit from 8-12.30.

That are completely clueless twunts who clearly do not give a flying fk about residents of the city.

.....and then just wait for additional fleet of tandem buses for the new Poppleton park and ride to clog up the City even more!

I detest York bus drivers with a passion.

I realise that they have a job to do and the need to keep to schedules but they simply drive so arrogantly with no consideration for other vehicles.....

Rant over.

I think it's a ploy to get all of us who work in York and live outside to use the trains or cycle.....

Having been close to being killed by them as both a pedetrian on the footpath and a passenger, let alone when in the car, totally. Some of them are complete nutters and miserable bds too.

It's really nice when you get a good one though.

Dont see a gritter all winter and as soon as the mercury reaches 20+ they come out in force
