West Yorkshire Meet
Discussion
Used to meet at Drig about 3 years ago. for the past few years a 'hardcore' of us kept it up semi-regularly at a few other locations, meeting for a brew and a chat, although it has pretty much died off this year (not through lack of trying).
Currently a lot of the more 'active' members on the forum I think are based more North Leeds, Harrogate, North Yorks type areas, so geographically it needs thinking about if people will commit.
And most people are simply very busy, have other commitments (like the TVR lot are always out somewhere).

I'd certainly be up for a meet a little more local to York, although does the meet at Sherburn still happen Simon? I'm in Huddersfield. Yet to go to a meet.
I have a neighbour who hates people parking outside her house, I'll host a meet you lot bring food and beer and we'll have a bbq. That'll piss her off
I didn't realise there was a west Yorkshire meet though otherwise I would've attempted to go back when it was on

The Railway meets were what really got me into the Pistonheads 'thing'. Used to be a good laugh, especially with a good tunnel run to finish off the evening

However, shift work and the change of location to further east (I'm just about as far west as you can get in West Yorks without accidentally slipping over to the dark side), meant that I kind of drifted away from the regular meets. Oh and the bloody M62 roadworks, that for the last 2 years have made it a right pain in the proverbial to get over Leeds way!
I always keep an eye of the forum for anything going on that's within reasonable travelling distance, on an evening when I'm not working though.

To be honest Nick, I think it was the tunnel runs that helped kill the meets off. I was at the first one with Ben and a handful of others and we managed to keep it going for two or three years with quite a crowd in the summer. then people started arranging tunnel runs in the middle of the meet and suddenly half the car park would be gone.
Why the runs didn't happen on the way to or on the way home from the meet I don't know, but that, in my humble opinion, was the start of the decline in popularity.
