A couple of pics from a photo shoot

With today's modern cameras practically anyone with half an eye for composition can get a "good" natural shot.
All subjective, but there is no doubt that the two top Marcos shots look superb.
Agreed on the cars, they're 'interesting', they make me want to go over to the owner and ask about them, to admire them and look under the bonnet to see what is there. I don't think you should comment on someones taste. All subjective, but there is no doubt that the two top Marcos shots look superb.
Photography is like cooking in a way, anyone can do it. You don't get to take your cooking somewhere to improve it before serving it up though.
I want to go out and eat a meal I can't cook at home, If I get served a meal I could have cooked myself I've wasted my money and I'm going to complain, this applies to a lot of services.
I can buy Photoshop, I could spend a couple of days learning it and edit my own photos, it wouldn't make me any good. I don't know if you saw this, but I found this thread:

Quite interesting and the photograph from 1953 pretty good really!
You might be able to buy Photoshop but using it to get artistic results still takes skill and talent IMHO and shouldn't be belittled. I certainly wish I had an eye for post processing so I could improve some of my shots!
This probably isn't the thread for this particular discussion, but get yourself over to the photography forum and have a read of some of the threads over there where it's been done to death several times - have a read of some discussions featuring GF Williams.

Only just see this thread, thanks for putting the shots up Steve
There isn't a huge amount of photoshop in these shots tbh. The effect is all done on location with the lighting technique, in (almost) darkness. But photos on PH are VERY often slated for being 'photoshopped' and tbh, I'm tired of hearing it. It doesn't help or inspire future 'shoots for me anyway. *rant over
Good to see some of you like them though

I am a very experienced amateur (read old) but would love to have the knowledge to take some pics like you
A definite talent - that really shows
Well done mate
Trickie
I think the Marcos is like my Wedge though - a "marmite car" - you either love them of hate the look of them

The photos of the odd looking blue cars are beautifully lit and very well framed and composed.
Compare the composition with the poor photos of Ferarris on the thread in the Ferrari forum and the photo forum. Though an amount of photoshop can save some photos, it cannot do much about a photographer who doesn't have an 'eye'.
