Hi guys,

Has anyone got any recommendations of places that carry out disc skimming, on the car, in the above areas?
Vibration on track in the Noble is a nightmare, and new discs and pads didn't sort the issue so guessing there may be run out on the hub.

Cheers for any help

I can recommend a place in Grenoside Sheffield if that's any use to you.

Is it forcing the pedal up and down under braking? If not, it's more likely something moving on the suspension, inner arm or wishbone bush most likely. What's the symptoms before you decide what the cure is?

Thanks for the replies. Have now found a place in Scunny to do it.

The pedal is vibrating a lot under braking, as is the steering wheel. Its quite a common fault on the Noble and skimming the discs has fixed it for a few owners.
Have also got a full suspension checkover/setup booked with a well respected guy too, so hopefully will all get sorted one way or another!

Ok so I've now been to 2 local places and none of them can get under my car to lift it because it's so low rolleyes (even after I specifically asked when booking in!)

ezi, I tried to pm you but you don't allow it apparently. Is this place in Sheff likely to be able to get my car in the air?
Or any other suggested places?

Cheers

I think they do it with the discs off the car on a lathe kind of machine but not certain, I haven't used them but they said they could skim my discs when my ST kept warping them. This is the place: http://uk.local.yahoo.com/South_Yorkshire/Grenside...

Give them a call and find out smile

Ahhhhh skimming them off the car is no good, as there's a very good chance the hub has some run out. Even fitting brand new discs didn't fix the problem so not much point skimming them off the car really.

Skimming is a watse of time, fix the root of the cause.

I used to have a Noble, 2 actually.

Trust me, skimming thins the disc, the disc cannot dissipate heat like it did, it will warp!

I had the ones on my noble skimmed at a little place between adwick and carcroft in Doncaster about 18 months ago. Been fine since.

This was the place. Doesn't mention they do it on their website but they do so you'll have to call.

Well finally got it done today, the front drivers side was well out apparently.
Been for a quick blast down some quiet backroads and brakes feel better than they ever have done! Just need to test them on track now.
