Went over to Manchester today , on return got speaking to my daughters boyfriend about speed cameras still functioning whilst gantries where unlit with speed warning. As we approach on east bound side west bound gantries where flashing, looking back to make sure no pre determining speed had been indicated . The question is are all motorway gantries cameras operating in same vain and has anyone received a ticket ?

The days of a reasonable cruising speed and a higher "getting home in the early hours" speed are numbered I fear.

Everyone will soon be doing 55-65 in fear of a ticket, and the motorways will grind to a halt, or everyone will be banned and taking the bus....

....hmm, maybe an elaborate scheme to get us all on public transport???

Right for reasons I cant go into its my understanding that they arent issuing tockets. They do flash I set one off myself last weekend so we'll see if anything comes through but I beleive it might be some kind of tactic or PR attempt from the Police.

If they are trying to make themselves even more unpopular they are doing a fecking good job. Insert soudbite of your choice about spending more time catching crimimals/rapists etc.

If they are issuing tickets not only will half of west yorkshire be off the road there will be riots!
