Blooming engine management light popped on while driving home tonight.

Can anyone in the area read fault codes via an OBD2 port? It's a GM car (VXR8)

Cheers,
Paul.

I think my Bosch KTS can read your car okay. It lists a 6.2 with Gen 4 MPI. I'm in Horbury (Wakefield) if that's any good?
Saturday morning - tomorrow - I will be at home fighting with the TVR so you are welcome to call in.

Thanks for the offer buddy. I probably would have taken you up on it too, but I managed to find a local auto electrician at lunch time and he's sorted it out for me smile

Its a bit poorly at the moment - throttle imbalance, interior to be sorted, a water leak etc etc. And it scares the sh** out of me in the wet wobble
Next time you drive through Horbury look down Victoria Street and you will see it under the car port. wavey

Cheers mate, appreciate the offer.

As it happens I did need it again on Sat morning and the same fella helped me out again. Nothing major, looks like I need a new throttle pedal unit.

I've ordered myself one of those blue tooth readers to use on my mobile phone for next time. I know it's not the same, but if it allows me to read the odd code then that's all I need.

The disadvantage of the OBD reader is that a lot of manufacturer specific data is missing. So, for the fault you have with the pedal, you may not see the 'live data', i.e. the actual value as seen by the engine ECU.
Lets hope it is just the pedal as most Vauxhalls that display a pedal fault invariably end up having the ECU, Body module and /or wiring replaced. There are a minimum of 2 and probably 3 values for the voltage on the pedal and you need to watch all of them at once to see that they are working correctly.
Anyway, if you get stuck, PM me.
