Not very specific - basically every location they go to in the county. Cruise will not help you for many locations.

Do a Google for North Yorkshire Speed Camera download - and click the download link on the relevant page at the top of the search. You get a spreadsheet history of location and tickets issued - including time of day which is often similar (30 to 90 minutes per site).

Beware A19 near Thirsk - on the download you will see two consecutive days in October - for a total of only about 2 hours - they raised (stole) £15,000 !!!

Many locations are easy targets - a number of downhill's where its so easy to do over 30mph. Work colleague got done last week on just such a spot - 2mph over the 10%.

Down with the Police Commissioner - what else has she brought us other than a load of cash taken from otherwise safe motorists. Beat officers cut again in my area. Can't wait to see the outcome of the attempt to recover 'unauthorised' payments to the previous Chief Constable and his shady deputy. More money wasted I would guess.

That is completely understandable. They sit on the Easingwold bypass, that is regularly driven at 90+ mph.

And is well sighted, well surfaced and wide enough for 3 lanes if necessary.

Mate of mine got done on the A64 eastbound at Malton the other week. You know, the long flat stretch before the Malton slip? Van was up on bridge and had him nabbed at 86mph as soon as he popped his head over the hill a good mile back up to road, well before he could even be seen! No speed awareness courses in N Yorks according to the NIP received, just hand over your £100 and licence for 3 bonus points. frown

Not a nice thing to say but glad it was him and not me as I tend to do a lepton along that bit if there's nowt much else about on the road.

Thanks for that tip - amazing capability. Although I'm usually going in the dark so its a case of keeping an eye out for a marked car hidden at the top of the slip after you have gone past.

Re the courses - they exist and it looks like there is - JUST - an option at 86.

I wouldn't say completely well sighted when there is traffic. Almost every day I see suicidal overtake attempts on there from people determined to keep their foot down.

When the road is clear though I agree there are no issued doing those speeds.
