Hi All,

I've got a couple of weddings coming up in April and could do with getting a new suit for the odd special occassion with work too. I thought this may be a good excuse to pop my tailored suit cherry!?

A friend at work reccomended this place - http://www.michelsberg.co.uk/ and I found this place which seems to be at the other end of the spectrum via Google - http://mcandjbrightbart.co.uk/ their prices seem very reasonable?

Absolute max end of my budget would be around £1000 but I'd be happy to spend significanlty less!

Just wondering if anyone on here could offer some advice or any reccomendations of places to go please?

Thanks

James Michelsberg made my wedding suit last year. Nice guy to deal with and did a great job.

Suits direct at the outlet near Xscape.

80 quid off the shelf and they chuck in a shirt and tie.

(chose to ignore the bit about tailored)

Thanks Basil, that's a couple of people reccomending Michelsberg's, will have to go for a chat with him I think.

Cheers for the tip Greensleves but I've got plenty of cheaper off the peg suits, after something a bit nicer this time around...

As an alternative to Michelsberg's, have a look at this:

www.owenscott.co.uk

Decided to go the bespoke route for my daughters wedding and have to say I was very, very impressed. Scott is a top guy and knows what he's doing. Has a reputation for being super stylish but is happy to provide whatever you want. He's also pretty passionate about keeping it local, which is something that made the whole process feel special.

Originally based in Huddersfield but have just opened a branch in Leeds.

Well worth a visit in my experience.

In all honesty, I wouldnt bother with a tailor for just the one suit...I've seen too many ill fitting tailored suits! I would just get yourself over Harvey Nics and have a look at some of the off the peg Pal Zileri suits - They will of course make any alterations should you require them.

.....oh and if you do go tailored, ask if it is fused (glued) or canvassed. A quality suit should be the latter.

I have 2 Pal Zileri suits and IMO, they are poor quality for the money (1,000 plus), soon look very tired.
