Harewood Hillclimb - May 10th and 11th
Discussion
Two events at Harewood next weekend, the Harewood Open meeting on Saturday and a round of the MSA British Hillclimb Championship on Sunday. Some good cars entered for both events with Ferrari Owners Club both days, Aston Martin OC on Saturday and all the British Championship ones on Sunday so well worth a visit.
If you go on Saturday come along and say hello, I'm in car 91, Fiat Coupe.

Is there a cost to get in? Might just pop up for a little bit with Jnr, but if he gets bored or the weather is rubbish want to be able to leave. Can you do that?
EDIT - just found a tenner in, not bad at all.
Also might just come watch practice with the GP and football on this afternoon, will it be easy enough to get out? And will people still be going for it in practice?
Cheers

Still amazed so few people don't bother to go down to the start line and the first three bends - very up close and personal and the big single seaters are almost scarily fast as they come out of the second corner. As ever, hill climbing highlights differences between cars we think we know about. You would expect a Skyline to be a gazillion mph quicker than a (tweaked) MX5 up the top straight - but 80 to the Mazda's 78 (and a quick Westfield's 90+ and a 3.5 ltr single seater 140+)
Well the rain held off for the Sunday afternoon runs. The paddock seemed a bit smaller than normal; can't say I blame them; probably would have been faster in a canoe on the Saturday!
Single seaters coming out of farmhouse is always a spectacle; I'd love a go in Moran's Gould it looks insane!

I had a good day on Saturday, the weather was variable to say the least, quite a lot of sun but one torrential downpour. Traction off the line was almost non-existent and a couple of runs on a wet track were fun with all the sliding around but pretty pathetic time-wise. My final run of the day was about a second off my personal best and could have been quicker but I had no idea how much grip there was as it changed so much for each run.
