I am sure there must be 99 threads of this nature ... in a 30mph limit, camera van (heading out of Shipley towards Otley), I actually had cruise set at 34mph (yep, don't ask me why that, no logic) and a sat-nav shows that as 32-33. Can anyone advise what the chances are? Sometimes I see +10% +2mph, then again I also see "I was done for 31mph". can anyone tell me what's usual please? John

AFAIK your are allowed a +10% tolerance on the speed limit, to allow for speedo inaccuracies.

I was advised at my speed awareness course by North Yorkshire Police that it is 10% + 2mph.

That's the limit for prosecution as per the ACPO guidelines.

It's worth pointing out that at 10% plus 2 you are liable to potential prosecution as it's an upper limit of the range, below that you've got a good chance as I understand it, but it is only a guideline.
