Nope
Front end looks like it was designed by Stevie Wonder for Ray Charles and built by David Blunkett.
The difference in performance will be marginal.
The MP4 looks a million times better and is the first McLaren road car of the new era.
At the end of the day though its just a fast car, like thousands of others and you don't really need the opinions of internet strangers to make a decision.
This thread is what we call on another forum a 'humblebrag'.

Get used to the acceleration first, don't accelerate on the turn.
It can be brutal if you are not used to it.

What's Pistonheads for if not to ask for advice, I value the opinion of my fellow Pistonheaders, in no way was my intention to brag.
Now I understand what this thread is, I promise never to post again until I have changed my name to anonymous.
I resent your post, deeply, pretty sure if you talk to people that know me I would hope the response would be positive.
Don'tt want to ge into a long thread based on "humblebrag", if we do, I shall delete the post, can't be bothered with all that crap.

Not in your shoes Ash but i don't think I'd buy a car that would be so similar to what i already had, especially not when its a model down from what i actually wanted.
Unless you are gaining or losing a roof in doing so then I'd hold on, rate they are bringing out updated cars there will be a 690s or something in another 6 months
