Hi folks, I'm a trustee for our local recreation club (a charity), we've recently had a big shake up as financially it needed sorting out. So hosting more events etc.

As a small addition to this I've offered to run this event, will all takings to the club. It's not going to be huge takings, but every little helps, it's using the space at a time that it's used for nothing else, it's something I'm interested in so have the motivation to make it work and I intend to run this monthly at the moment, if it warrants it we might be able to move to fortnightly, and all being well we could consider a car show on the field next year.

Free entry, it's a nice social event, it is in a residential area so please keep noise/speed down on way in and out, absolutely no messing around please, anyone driving like an idiot will be asked to leave and won't be welcome back. Nice social event means people can come in their nice cars without worrying about people endangering them or their cars.

We'll have a little coned off area at the end of the car park, should be plenty of spaces but tbh plenty over overflow parking if needed. Can't see it for the first few tbh.

Coffee and tea will be available in the clubhouse, so if the weather's not great don't worry we have undercover space and warmth. Coffee and tea will be cheap, short term this will not be anything special, long term might get a coffee van up if people want it. First event I'm not intending to do food, due to not knowing numbers and needing to cater, but the plan second event on once we know numbers a bit better is to offer bacon sandwiches and I'll try to come up with a suitable vegetarian/non pork option too.

So the tldr version is nice event, social, broad church of cars, come and chat and meet people at a time you wouldn't be doing much anyway and you can get home in time to go out shopping/for Sunday lunch.

I’ll come to it, if it’s not raining!
It’s not far and good roads from where I am, just south east of York.

Just to say thank you for setting this up. I enjoyed the drive over and meeting people there - sorry I had to push off early.

A fantastic broad church of vehicles too, I look forward to heading over again.

Thankyou so much all for coming! Great selection of cars and the really wonderful point of everyone was chatting with each other, there was no snobbery or type of car feudalism. It was very reminiscent of an old PH meet back in the original days.

Had a good drive through the Wolds this morning and called in on my way back home.

Thanks for organising, was good to grab a coffee, look at the varied cars and chat to the owners.

Early format works ideal for me, see you next time.

Next event 21st of June less than 2 weeks away!

It is Fathers day so either escape the kids before you go out to harvester for lunch or bring them with you!

We had a great mix of cars last time, but even if the weather's rubbish just bring yourselves. The C&C is on your left as you enter the carpark, look for the hut that looks like Dad's army used to meet in it!
