Hi

Just got caught in a downpour and, yes, I spun the car: over a curb, blowing both rear tyres and giving a signpost a smack on the way! Sometimes I just want to shoot myself.

Anyway, I need to take the car to a body repairers. Its not drivable currently and so need to make a decision sharpish (i.e. tomorrow) about where to go. Clearly going to be an insurance claim, so any advice for TOP QUALITY repair? I remember a post previously that mentioned Motor-craft in Pudsey? But can't find it now. Also would appreciate opinions on Drivestyle HC in Harrogate, which is where I'm based. Others?

Thanks

Quite often insurers will insist on you using one of their preferred repairers, I would wait to hear what the insurers say before selecting a repairer. Whoever you go with, don't be afraid to be super picky, the repairers want to keep the lucrative insurance contracts and will go to considerable lengths to please the owners.

Such a shame to see a car like that pranged frown

Give Track V Road a call 0845 0945 350. They do not do bodywork but I bet you any money they will know somebody you can trust.

Sorry to Tonto for stealing his thunder but he had a fibreglass repair done on his Tamora at Drivestyle and said it was first class. I'm sure he'll be alone soon.

Holy shit in a fibreglass shell mate

Sorry to hear this has happened and hopefully you'll get it all sorted soon and to a high degree (is it likely to be written off??)

Remember people, be carefull out there...its only 2 weeks since my brakes locked up and sent me into a small wooded area in a garage carpark...luckily no damage though, but one hell of a kick to my ego frown

Sorry to hear that.

You have a right to decide where the car goes for repair, the insurer will just want to ok the quote. The only diff is that some only provide a courtesy car on own damage claims when using one of their approved repairers.

I had a repair done on my Tuscan front wing by Drivestyle and they did a great job.

If you are fully comp with any insurer you can choose who to take the car too.
Thats the law. The insurers will try to persuade you to use their appoved repairers, but legally they cannot.

This is moto-craft: -

http://www.mylocalservices.co.uk/West_Yorkshire/Ca...

Never used them myself but you read a lot about them, and I've seen Elises, Fezzers, Lambo's and a whole host of expensive stuff there. Of course the most appealing to you will be the Elise which means they're used to GRP repairs.

Thanks to All for sympathy/help/advice clapclap

Car gone to Drivestyle HC. Straightforward repair inc new door, so looked worse - well it would when its your P&J wouldn't it - than it actually was.

Cheers beer
