Been seeing armed response
unit at Shiptonthorpe the past few weeks around 7 in the morning. Any of the ph
care to elaborate?
Might be my brother, I'll ask him.

ETA could be related to Operation Helical, although I'm not sure how far out NY go on the 1079.

I know it's about zero tolerence but armed police for motoring offences thats a bit extreme
You'd be amazed, as there aren't that many armed jobs they do a lot of traffic work too. A simple rule, if there are two in the car it is likely to be firearms, if one traffic (assuming a lettered up volvo).Isoproturon1 said:

But I think you could of hit the nail on the head with full sutton.
Nope, nothing to do with the prison (besides, Full Sutton is several miles from S'thorpe).

Why should I not reply? Don't dictate to me what I can and can't do.
Not dictating at all and my point still stands. If someone knows something that they are not allowed to divulge, I can see no reason why they would even bother commenting, except to boost their own ego.It just appears to me from this and previous posts that you like people to think that you know more than them, that's all.
I may be totally wrong and if so I apologise, but that's how it comes across ... a bit like posting full number plates and incinuating that you may be a Traffic Officer.
Anyway, in answer to the original post .. not that secret after all.
The armed police are simply in response to a couple of recent armed robberies, one at the Nationwide BS in Pocklington and one at Tescos in Beverley. A case of high vis presence and state of alert to discourage/disrupt any possible further attacks.
Could be a few units around the region, hence the one seen near the meeting place for this weekends York Moors run.
