I know some of you will be 'ON' when you get back from the weekends blast as i can only attend Saturday I'll start= a 'veery' big thank you to Gemini for all is effort in organising a superb 'do'. The start in York racecourse was fantastic with the cry (gentleman start your engines' getting the parade up an running.

It take more than one, a big thank you to all the marshalls trying there hardest to park tivs in 'pretty' rows and prize money from the pockets of 'hard-up' tiv's with the charity auction, well done lads and lasses.

The venue was superb, so thank you Yorkshire Air Museum for allowing us the use of shuch a nice place.

If I've forgotten anybody 'a big thank you'

I was doing the trackday and didn't realise there was a mass gathering of TVRs until I went out in the lunch break for petrol and spotted them all parked in the museum.

Gemini, thanks for a fantastic day on Saturday.

My best memory:

I was waiting to get my exhaust measured for the loudest TVR competition when some visitors to the museum came to watch. Dad, with his son (aged about 10), are looking on keenly. I asked if the young lad would like to sit in the car while I hit the loud pedal and his reaction was "Can I Dad, please, PLEASE?"
So he sits in the car with the biggest grin on his face while I make a pathetic attempt to be a loud TVR (118dB - I ask you!). When we have finished he says thanks and goes to get out and so I ask his dad if it's OK if I take him for a short run. We only went about 100 yds in 1st, but well that was quite quick and noisy. I think I made little boy's day.
And do you know what? I think one day that little boy will just HAVE to own a TVR.
I hope so.

It's quite ironic that whilst you lot were making as much noise as possible we were having to scrape under the 103db limit for the trackday...

It was featured in the York Evening Press

Evening Press website said:
STUNNING TVR sports cars made for an impressive spectacle as they travelled in procession through York.

More than 200 of the cars descended on the city for the "Big Northern Gathering" - the TVR Club's national gathering for the north of England.

Regional organiser Richard Abbott said: "We met at the racecourse for an informal gathering and a large procession of about 120 cars made its way down Tadcaster road and onto the A64, and ended up at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington."

Examples of all 12 TVR models were included in a line up at the event, which featured about 200 vehicles.

Cars from as far afield as Essex, Cambridge and Suffolk all descended on York for the get-together.

Mr Abbott said: "It's the second time we've been to York - the forst was in 2005 - and we would like to thank the city for its hospitality."

Hi John,

It was my lad Grant who was with you. It really made his day!
I'll post a photo up when I get home, he loves cars and really enjoyed the day because of the superb atmosphere created by chaps such as yourself.
My wife has suggested I started taking him to Le Mans with me and that she likes the Tuscan out of all of them wink.

Thanks again and hope to see you next year if not sooner.

Adam

I bought my lad a long and we had a fantastic couple of hours, although he did prefer the planes, especially the ones you could climb into.

Very funny that the track day was noise limited, whilst those loverly TVRs made so much joyous noise laugh
