I am thinking of setting up a small business hiring out a sports/prestige car for weddings.
It would involve me being the chauffeur NOT customers driving the car!!
I would anticipate mainly taking the groom and his best man to the church as I guess the bride usually prefers a classic car.
My question is what sort of car would you like to hire if you were planning your wedding? Unfortunately the need to transport two passengers means that the usual 2 seater sports cars are out of the question.

At my daughters wedding in June I let the groom (now my son-in-law) drive the best man to the church in my Noble M400. He loved it and it was then in the right place for me to drive to the reception. Awesome roads around Thorganby 
Doesn't help with your question but maybe an older Jag eg XK 150 drophead. Only problem is small rear.

The only 4 seater convertible I can think of that fits the bill is an M3 cabriolet (The E46 shape that they have just stopped making).

It depends what route you want to go down. Sporty or Luxury.
As soon as you go down the four setas route you are limited to cars that practically anyone can hire out. Do it properly and just target the groom (or bride) with something special, or leave it to the other exec car hire places.
M3 cab? Would you get excited about going to your wedding in one? I know I'd rather go in Steve's Stag ... then again, I'd really rather go in his Testarossa M

My business concept involves a maodern car for younger grooms. I personally would love to turn up in a stag!

I agree with Al, target just the niche market. I see no reason why a best man could not follow the groom, both in diffrent cars.It would involve me being the chauffeur NOT customers driving the car!!

Just to expand on your idea - are you planning on buying your own car/ cars to do the wedding service. Why not set up a business involving some of us PHers locally. WE could all offer our cars for use, that way there would be a choice of TVRs, Fezzas, etc etc - just and idea

I always wondered what it would be like to be a chauffer for more executive rides (rather than a taxi or executive airport runner etc which i dont think i'd enjoy much).
You can get some very nice older mercs which could be a reasonable car for a best man etc to follow the groom, 560 sec /sel etc (could still be used as a main car if not much work/ someone doesnt have a supercar budget) if the car the groom is in is only a 2 seater.

If you want an impressivly large convertable then maybe you should go American. Something like a big Cadillac Fleetwood convertable. Its an 8 or 8.2L v8 though so not the cheapest on fuel, not sure how it handles either as i think it FWD, but there should be plenty of room and it would certainly make a scene when it arrives.
