Anyone use or know a good MOT garage in Leeds. I need to get one done before the end of the month for the MR2,

Thanks.

Depends wherabouts you are but in work we use Gordons Tyres - all the company vehicles go there and I've used them a few times for bits & bobs myself. They're reasonable, honest and seem to know what they're doing.

That sounds pretty good, its about the same distance wise as the railway pub meet so 25-35 minutes + depending on traffic. At a reduced price of £39.50 as well. I might find out if they can book me in next week, Cheers.

My local MoT Garage is the North Wakefield branch of Gordon's Tyres too. They have been an honest lot over the years, possibly because they don't have a vast amount of diagnosis and repair functions in-house, and they certainly don't need to artificially generate trade. Maybe it is because I'm a regular there (well, once a year is regular!) but in previous years they have fitted (free!) replacement brake disks I obtained and have adjusted the headlight beam, CO level etc for the MoT without a problem.

When my battery died a couple of years ago I rang them and they said they could obtain one if I wanted, but I would be better going to the local factors and getting it myself. Which I did, and saved nearly 50% and got a better battery too! I trust the tester, he won't fail it to make money for the garage, nor will he pass it if it isn't safe. I've never heard them talk down to customers, and they always keep any replaced components for you to inspect.

Cheers guys, i'll give Gordons a call tomorrow . If they can't fit me in in time then i'll give the one you mentioned a call Scott. Cheers.

I'll ask them to balance the tyres as well as the vibrations are driving me nuts.

May be too late but I use Exhaust Discounts for the Beemer and my old Citroen. Quick and straight and you can easily walk to/from there from/to Leeds city centre.

Thanks for that, but i booked it into Gordons for Thursday this afternoon so i'll wait and see how it goes. Handy to know for the future if the others are busy or if ones nearer than others.

I didn't realise until today that Zad Snr (a.k.a. my dad) had his MoT at Gordon's today. Anyway it failed on 2 front wishbone bushes (This was expected, they had been creaking for some time). Anyway, the bill for fitting 2 Mondeo front wishbone+bush assemblies was £120 inc labour etc, which seemed pretty reasonable. I suspect a main dealer would have been at least double this.

Seems to be just off junction 40 of the M1 so not too far from Leeds.

I've been trying to find somewhere with a machine up north for a while. Just need to ring up and get some prices and perhaps book in.
