My 4200 spyder is due its yearly service and have been quoted £630 at JCT600 Leeds, as its no longer in warranty I want to know if anyone knows any good independent specialist local'ish to me that would know what they are doing and be fairly reasonable?

Try running a Tamora if you think that's a lot for a service!

Still like the Spyder (convertable with electric roof IIRC) - are they reliable (no TVR jokes thank you)?

The engines are fantastic and the car is reliable apart from the electrics which seem to play up every now and again.

And of course you have the clutch and F1 pump to replace every now again depending on wear.

Strasse in Leeds specialise in Porsche, but also have a guy who knows his way around Ferraris and Lambos, they may be able to service it for you.

I have tried Strasse but they will only deal with Porsch and Ferrari!

Spoke to italia at length and they sound fantastic good old fashioned proper service and quality - will deffo keep them in mind for future use! However as they do not have any diagnostics they cannot do things like clear or repair faulty warning lights or replace the clutch on the F1 gearbox.
+ there price was £26 more than JCT600 yet no courtesy car or pickup/collection.

Also rang Autoshield in Manchester who specialise in Maser but they did not inspire confidence and yet charged as much as the dealers but with no courtesy car although they said they would pick up from Leeds.

Rang R&D autosport who seemed good but they wont touch the maser as they have no diagnostics for them.

Also Rang main dealer Greypaul in Notts - £731 inclusive

And Stratstone Manc - £850 inc !!!!

Millbrooke Sheffield are the cheapest at £411 inclusive but no courtesy car or pickup + I would have fuel to pay for traveling to Sheffield and back twice - so would prob work out nearly as much as JCT by the time I pay for a hire car and fuel.

So by the looks of It JCT600 are actually quiet reasonable so will prob stick with them + they pick up my car and drop off a bmw or merc courtesy car.

As anyone used Millbrooke in the past?

And what was your experience of JCT as I have found them very good since Chris took over and they got rid of the old service manager.

Millbrook are a top outfit, who are going from strength to strength, as word gets around about how good they are.

The guys are all ex Gray Paul/OPC technicians, who will attempt to repair your car, as opposed to simply replacing bits, at the first opportunity. I wont let anybody else touch my GT3 and that includes OPC's and the more established independants in our area....

Give them a try, you will not be disappointed and as you have highlighted they are very competetive....

Millbrooke have been spot on with me all the way.

I have never booked my car in just drop it off and they get to it when they can. Prices seem fine.

I called in on them in there 1st week trading through coincidence. They are now twice the size and doing very well. They have the diagnostic and wheel tracking information.

I use JCT for my 3200. If you find a good indy closer than Autoshield, give me a shout!
