Followed a right prick back round the Leeds ring road tonight, one of those half cab Animal pickup things in black... (black ones always seem to be driven fast and offensively in urban sprawl areas hehe )

First at ring road Moortown / Shadwell lane junction, Eastbound on ring road, comes down LH lane for left only at ~ +15mph and cuts/brakes across junction into RH lane for ring road infront of car infront of me (Vectra)

Then drives relatively serenely until Wetherby junction ahead of Vectra, where they go left and I go onwards to Coal Road, but see a long way ahead the vehicle over the hashed whites/skimming box junctions with parts of vehicle, then at Coal Road junction they sit middle laning it, so I sit nearside expecting them to go right, but they don't, then they middle it upto the York road roundabout, where they finally go LH lane, so I went RH lane and over onto the DC exiting into L2 and then moved left as it was clear (they were say 70yds behind and I assumed they were not 'rushing' along, just driving badly) and then I moved back over to the RH side half way down for a car in the LH lane going ~ 40mph, so the van thing then boots it and tailgates me down the hill (guessed they might do so), so I get over to the LH lane for the Barwick Road roundabout and it stays in the RH lane and cuts it on the way off into my lane 50%, so I just slowed and let them cut me off, I just mosied along at 40mph and saw them fly off down there at about 60mph... best let them get on.

The worst bit now though, Ring Road Halton, just off roundabout, down the 30mph DC. Sitting at the lights, me on far right of three lanes on the second row of cars, 2 lanes ahead onto 30mph DC, one left only, and the goon in a 'made up' lane to the left but not the left turn only lane, and then tries drag racong a poor Skoda driver, but can't get ahead while trying to push Skoda over to L2 into another car, and has to slam on and swerve right to avoid the pavement and railings of the corner of the junction, and cuts up the 2nd L1 car behind the Skoda after nearly coming to a halt braking, then proceeds to drive in L1 tailgating the Skoda at some speed (assume Skoda sped too as I lost sight of them for a bit), THEN when the lanes stop at the DC section the goon overtakes past traffic islands to get past the Skoda in a 40mph zone!

I've decided to go to the police tomorrow to report them. There is an accidental missing your lane and cutting across, but then tailgating/blocking me for no reason while I just wanted to make decent progress on the national 70mph DC (Coal Road roundie to Barwick), AND then purposely racing a Skoda and nearly crashing into a railed pavement area and speeding while tailgating in a 30mph zone, then overtaking in a traffic island 40mph zone is just crackers...

Never been so gobsmacked before just for their total disrespect for other road users safety! I really hope the Skoda driver reports them too, then hopefully the police will give them a bollocking for being purposely driving like a tool!

People make mistakes, or get an ego hit for being passed by a little diesel 306 using the L2 in L2 out at a 2 lane roundabout with DC's at each side, but to then drag race/cut up/ basically drive like a complete mad man over a 30mph urban junction nearly hitting barriers designed to protect pedestrians/ speed through an urban 30mph area then overtake past traffic islands for pedestrians who might only be looking right for traffic!!!

I'm always being cut up on that junction when people finally realise that the LH lane actually goes up to Shadwell and not straight. The bit after that where it goes to a 60 up to the A58 roundabout is just as bad when people potter along at 30 when it's a clear, dry, easy 60 down there.

thumbup Mind you not a good solution in the Noble as there isn't enough washer water to waste it!! Funnily enough though people don't seem to tailgate the Noble........ well not for long anyway woohoo

Hehe, well it was raining and at the time they were tailgating they were about 1ft off my back bumper at ~ 60mph, so I just wanted to pass the car I was out for and get back across. Spraying my wipers would have been a token gesture with all the spray hehe

I have to go to the police station to report it, so expecting they will treat me like a criminal for wanting to report it, but I just feel more than ever before that their repeated agressive driving towards several people who just were unfortunate enough to share the road with them justifies my time and effort.

Fingers crossed the other people who were both likely offended (Vectra flashed them for about 10 seconds), and the cut up Skoda driver, will report them too. I'd love to see a proper nutcase driver giving a bollocking! Idiots like them are ultimately the type who are ruining the roads for everyone by making people who make progress fall under the same dangerous nutter umbrella as them!

peter, its impossible to get anyone angry by tailgating in a noble, when you was behind me in traffic i couldnt even see your roof out of my rear view mirror it was so much lower!!!

all the best with going to the police, hope they take you seriously(but i doubt they will).

i implore everyone to try the washer jet game (in the dry) on tailgaters, its a fantastic passive way of getting them to back off while you look for a place to let them through.

I'm seeing increasingly bad driving around leeds recently. Granted I am driving a lot more time around Leeds but I see loads of cars everyday using the left lane to go right at roundabouts, running red lights amnd generally shit driving

I had a bad day with a long wheelbase type Ducato van (silver) on Tuesday night. The usual ring road trick of haring down the right hand lane (should therefore turn right) and cutting into the left hand lane to go straight over. Unfortunately I was on the receiving end of this fella cutting in. Incidentally I didn't stop him doing this, he just acted as if he owned the road but I had no where to go. He then proceeded to scream abuse at me and tried to run me off the road. I let him get on with it, but at the next roundabout he made a bee line for my car and tried to run me off the road again. This wasn't cutting me up, this was much worse than that. I let him carry on in his own mad way, so he then stopped to get out of his van to make a fist of it. Moron! Anyhow I just carried on of course and ignored the fxxxxt. To make matters worse this driving genius then turned into the traffic and all I could hear was several other cars letting their horns off in protest.

Funny thing was I'm sure this whole event would have ruined his day. I just thought he was a prat. It was so ridiculous it was almost funny (but only because no-one was hurt). I don't suppose there is any point reporting this as he didn't manage to cause any damage.

Quite a few people do that at A64 roundabout going towards Coal Rd. Another good place is the one that takes you down the hill before Rodley roundabout where you get two lanes going into one. The latter is actually a bad design IMO as it does actually have two lanes going straight but only one to go into.

I've stopped showing any signs back, I just drive around their cretinous behaviour... problem is, I actually think ignoring them when they are angry gets them more angry sometimes, and if they see you laughing at their bad driving they get mad too. You can't actually win with these nut jobs.

What I would love to do is fit some decent high-res camera gear to the car, recording the last 5 mins, and if I see anything really good just press save, then give to plod for amusement/prosecution biggrin
