Need to vent my anger out - tailgating
Discussion
I was on the dual carriageway near Shaw Cross today coming back from Leeds and it was busy, but everybody was moving at 40mph.
I had this idiot man behind me in some heap of crap obviously wanting to overtake me, but there wasn't anywhere for me to go.
He must have been less than a foot from my bumper all the way down that road. I just stayed at 40 and wasn't going to go any faster for this baffoon.
Eventually he pulled into the petrol station, beeped at me and gave me a nice hand gesture to remember.
Charming, isn't it?

I tailgate.
When I have a ploker in the outside lane, nothing in front and will not let me by.
Tailgating when there is nowhere to go, that is just stupid.
Before you hit me with the flames, I do not care, if open road in front and a faster car behind, pull in, let em past. Chances are you should not be in that lane anyway.
Rant over.

Tailgating is stupid. If the driver in front has such poor lane discipline that they won't pull in when they get a suitable opportunity, what makes you willing to trust them not to do something else silly? If you are tailgating them you are in a very vulnerable position should they decide to slow down suddenly....

I understand what you are saying but just because the driver in front of you is a When I have a ploker in the outside lane, nothing in front and will not let me by.

, (The "C" word), dont be one yourself, raise above it, drop back a little, try full beams instead. If your too close and he decides to test his brakes to muck you around, you may find yourself inside his boot.
If someone is in the wrong lane and the inside lane is clear then I give a flash and if he doesn't move I undertake.
If the roads are busy and there's nowhere to go then I'll wait like the rest of them but if any f***er tries to lane block me on a dual into one at roadworks and force me to queue with the sheep rather than use the empty lane 2 up to the merge point then that really gets my goat.

Blocking lanes on approach to road works seems to be an in thing with a minority of lorry drivers, who think they have gods given right to hold everyone up for about 2 miles before the merge lane. (All been covered on PH's I know, but bloody irritating). If the roads are busy and there's nowhere to go then I'll wait like the rest of them but if any f***er tries to lane block me on a dual into one at roadworks and force me to queue with the sheep rather than use the empty lane 2 up to the merge point then that really gets my goat.
And yes, have to agree on your thoughts on undertaking where the buggers think they own L3. These sort of drivers should be the ones being targetted not those who stray 2 or 3 over limits. Sorry little rant, preaching the bloody obvious here I know.

I had someone pull out on me and then threaten to reverse over my car doing just the same last weekIf the roads are busy and there's nowhere to go then I'll wait like the rest of them but if any f***er tries to lane block me on a dual into one at roadworks and force me to queue with the sheep rather than use the empty lane 2 up to the merge point then that really gets my goat.

Just drop it down 2 gears. No brakelights. Just sheer panic on the face in your mirror. If he/she hits you, really sorry officer, was just going from 3rd to 4th......must have selected 2nd by mistake!!
Two wrongs dont make a right. So car behind you hits you, you spin, do I need to go on.
