Campaign targets speeding bikers

Speeding motorcyclists are being targeted in a campaign to cut the number of casualties on roads across East Yorkshire.

Police will use an unmarked motorbike fitted with a camera and speed detection equipment to catch those driving at dangerous speeds.

Road patrols will be stepped up as part of the crackdown which runs to October.

Pc Glen Dennis said: "Despite our efforts we still catch bikers driving in excess of 100mph."

Id be more bothered about bikers driving than the speed

Last summer a favourite spot was on the EY--NY border on the Wetwang to Malton road, they catch em coming over the tops. This is a pain as its a great Mini road.

Yeah, but what time ... we are usually in that area way before 08.00.

Spotted yesterday mid morning (10:30am), one marked bike, on unmarked bike and a marked traffic car on the North Yorkshire route up to Scarborough from Hull.

Nothing on the way back around 17:00
