Learner drivers under 17ys. practice options

From memeory they have to be over 14 to go with you in your car
Under 14's are only allowed to drive there with a pre-booked instructor
and then in a dual control car (which works out much more expensive
than the £15 it costs for 1.5 hours in your own car -if suitable)
Hope this helps

If you find Tockwith on the map, and then zoom out a couple of miles theres an other airfield (skipwith?) that you can get onto.
I'm not sure on the legality of it, but I used to go up there with my Dad quite a bit. Its run down and overgrown, so dont expect to go blatting about in your Porsche, but theres big expanses of relatively smooth concrete to drive round and non-one about (other than Radio Control planes/cars sometimes) - perfectly good enough for learning. I think its a few miles east of Tockwith.

i think you mean Bubwith. I have done some driver training there, a couple of years ago. I think you have to pay by the hour, so likely to be £50+ ph.I'm not sure on the legality of it, but I used to go up there with my Dad quite a bit. It is only a straight bit of tarmac however.
U17CC don't do any events up north, it's all based at finmere in oxfordshire, or some airfields near swindon, however they are probably not aware of tockwith.
Tockwith in any case is your best bet for some underage driving practice.
What about this http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ll=53.805993,-0.9057...
Looks like plenty of free space!
Just seen its right next to Bubwith so you are have probably discounted it.
I was driving around the Cheshire backroads in my mates Mini at 15 but I wouldn't suggest you do that. Very foolhardy.
