Leeds to St Annes

I'm going over to Lytham St Annes on Sunday morning from Batley.

I prefer not to go around the houses toom much, as I have to be there by 10.30am, but has anyone a suggestion for a good to drive route avoiding the motorways?

You can either go over the Pennines or you can go via skipton. both good drives if you get a clear run!

oh and . . Lytham and St Annes are 2 separate places (being from Lytham this really annoys me).
