Wedding next week - in le shat!
Discussion
Hi guys
I'm getting married on the 5th July and to cut a long story short, I don't think the car I booked is going to turn up.
I booked a Rolls Royce Phantom (new one) last year from a company in Manchester. I paid the deposit and am due to pay the balance, but I cannot get hold of the owner, he's not returning my calls, answering my messages or returning my emails. As if weddings weren't stressful enough!
I really want to ask if you own, or know anyone that owns, a decent large car, RR, Bentley etc, please email me.
I know this is a MASSIVE ask, and I am willing to pay you VERY well, also there will be a place set at the reception if you wanted a meal!
Please please please email me if you think you can be of help....anything, I'm shatting bricks!
Thank you!

p.s. Wedding is in North Lincolnshire!

I presume you mean to get you AND the bride in ... so that's the Ferrari out. Only other thing I can offer is a nice big black Grand Cherokee.
Try Justin (Kenyon). He is in North Lincs and has organised the Super Car charity do in a few weeks. He may know of someone with a decent large car.

Unless 2 Ferraris (or maybe even 3 with Justin, or even 4 with Greensleeves) will do the trick???Try Justin (Kenyon). He is in North Lincs and has organised the Super Car charity do in a few weeks. He may know of someone with a decent large car.

Thanks for all the replies guys and girls....I have in fact got it sorted now.
I found a Phantom for sale at a garage in Doncaster, so I contacted the owner, and to cut a long story short, he's chauffering us on Saturday in a black and silver RR Phantom - woohoo!!!! HAPPIEST MAN ALIVE.

I also promised him that I would pass his name on to everyone I knew...so, Robin Goforth is the man and www.robingltd.co.uk if you want a new car!!!
Thanks again to everyone who replied and sent me an email!

He is a interesting local character, owns the fishing lakes around the corner from my house. I guess you didn't see him when he was on Wife Swap! Thanks again to everyone who replied and sent me an email!
Are exams getting easier ? No idea
but I can tell you Weddings are getting more pretentious.
At the Mr POD's wedding to the Current Mrs POD in 1989, the Bride arrived at the wedding in a Rover P6 belonging to the Best Man, and sold to the best man by the best man's granny for the sum of £50 and painted panel by panel in the 'development' paint booth at Peugeot Talbot's Ryton plant, where the best man was a Product Engineer.
The P6 was driven by the cheif brides maid's husband, who promised not to take it over 30 MPH.
The Groom and Best Man arrived at the church in a 1980 W reg Mk3 escort, with a massive dent in the bonnet which the best man had tried to sort out the night before but complained that a toffee hammer was 'Hardly the righting fecking Tools you ass'
After the afternoon reception the escort was filled with polystyrene foam chips, and then driven from Liverpool to Malvern with windows open to try and remove the chips.
The best Man later sold the P6 to buy a 405 estate.
The Escort was later sold to buy an Mg Metro Turdo
Total cost of the cars for the day (including ribbons and petrol) was £5.

I think its more about making you feel special, if she wants arrive at her wedding in a plush car, feeling like a princess then why shouldn't she, it is after all the bride & grooms day & about what they want. but I can tell you Weddings are getting more pretentious.
I got married three weeks ago & I arrived at the venue in a full wedding dress & veil, wedge into the front seat of my friends 206, we drove through bolton abbey area with windows down, music blaring having a sing along, thats how I wanted to remember the last few moments before I became a Mrs, alternatively if I could have got a phantom I would have.....and probably sill had a sing along

This thread is not about being pretentious ... it's about people helping other people out.
A ride in a Phantom is not something that comes along everyday ... glad you got sorted and enjoy!
