Sponsored Bike Ride 6 September

Here's one that will test braun instead of brain.
Wakefield And District Motorsports Club hold an annual sponsored bike ride (The Denis Parkinson Memorial) in aid of a local charity or good cause, sometimes both.
This year's event was held on 20 July and raised quite a bit for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Pennine Rescue
Unfortunately, a number of the main protaganists were unable to make the ride through business commitments or ill health and are feeling a bit guilty about letting the side down, so we're doing it all again on 6 September.
So here's the deal. A bunch of unfit nutters will leave Wakefield on the morning of the 6th and make their way steadily to Oliver's Mount Race Circuit in Scarborough where we planted a bench in memory of Denis.
Anyone fit enough who owns a bike is welcome to join us providing they raise a bit in sponsorship or if you're not up to the task but would still like to contribute then you could either make a donation or sponsor one of the riders, preferably me!
Please help me keep this thread aloft but if you'd like more details, please ask or PM me. I'll be wielding a sponsor form at the railway meet in a couple of weeks time.

We also break the route up into 4 segments. Wakey to Selby, Selby to Stamford Bridge, Stammy to Malton and Malton to Oliver's. Each is around the 20 mile mark so if you just fancy doing a bit or thrying the whole route but climbing off when you've had enough then that's fine too.
Initial plans were to ride the route then get a train back from Scarborough but it now looks like we'll have a support truck all the way and a lift back. God, we make things easy!

Will need final numbers to make sure we can arrange return transport. Looks like we'll need a roof rack on the bus!

I can honestly say that I am nowhere near fit enough to cover that distance and don't own a bike...although I might be able to get up to the finish point

That sounds like about a dozen up to now then.
I have a 15 seater minibus that will bring all the people back and I'll sort someone out to drive it. It can act as broom wagon and support as well. If someone could volunteer a van to put all the bikes in and some way of getting it to Scarborough that would save me a job.
