used to organise some runs out over the peaks but ahave recently moved further up north so fancy trying out some of the roads over the moors.

anyone fancy a casual meet and showing me some of the best routes so i can look at organising some runs out in the future?

why not, lets get a list going.

please note this is not going ot be a set route, the plan is to just meet up and explore some nice roads. smaller group might be better.

we can meet at the shell station on the a1 up near scotch corner as your going north. any ideas on time. not bothered if its at the crack of dawn.

add your names below.

anyone joining me?

will meet at 10am at the shell station on the a1 north just before scotch corner.

a mate of mine is sorting some good roads out to go on so should be a good relaxed day.

Can I suggest a route which I have done a couple of times.
Take the A66 west at Scotch Corner, go off at Barnard Castle onto the B6277 to Alston, then the A686 to Penrith.

From here you can go into the Lakes, or back along the A66 to Scotch Corner.

alex - could you PM me your mobile your number? I have a rattly heatshield under my exhaust, its not really a reason not to come other than it reverberates ridiculously (embarassingly) loud at the moment! Gonna try fix it this afternoon once I can get some ramps - thus I'll let you know in the morning if I'll be there.

If I can find it I've got a few of Mark H's maps on file too, will bring my atlas and Sat nav.

Hope its as sunny as today!

Just in case you do, I found out this morning that the western half of the Cockayne loop is closed halfway along due to a landslip. And it was too foggy for me to try the route you suggested in my thread too frown

Still the rally was good smile

Reeto, the exhaust was giving me major grief, so I'm riding with Mitch. Will be in a black S3, see you there at the Shell in the morning.

Are you not in the White MR2 no more ID?
