Everyone always moans when I come back from a rally saying that if they'd have known, they'd have gone and watched it.
So here's a list for the next few weeks, with my recommendations.
27 September
Rally Yorkshire (Trackrod) based in Yorkshire forests.
Good rally. Lots of big names as it's a BRC round. Worth a watch but low on the clubmen entries.
Watch out for Steve Bannister if he does it in the Mk11.
Same day. McRae Stages, Scotland somewhere.
Should be more of a phenominum than a rally with expected entries from Ari Vatanen, Bjorn Waldegard, Stig Blomqvist, Jimmy McRae, Malcolm Wilson and rumours of Carlos Sains, Seb Loeb etc. Should be a stormer.
4 October
Harold Palin Memorial, Manby, Louth
Not one of the highest profile events on the calender and possibly an all tarmac single venue unless the weather tidies itself up and allows the use of the "loose" stages
Wakefield are fielding 3 crews and it's a party on the friday night (no team No Bull disco please) Full of clubmen and usually a few Scoobies, Evos and the occasional 6r4 but plenty of Escorts and plenty of action.
October 26th. Premier Forest rally in Sherwood forest complex. Usually a cracking event
2 November
Malton Forest Rally
North Yorkshire Forests.
End of season event but championship qualifier so may be some fierce battles and some hard driving. Worth a look
14 - 17 November
RAC Rally
Roger Albert Clark
Starts in Leeds with two friday night stages in Temple Newsam Park
Saturday is Temple Newsam, Yorkshire forests and Olivers Mount
Sunday Scotland
Monday Keilder. Carlisle finish
Don't miss it. 2wd only and mainly BDA Escorts. Masturbation material for true enthusiasts.
6 Dec
Grizedale stages.
Possibly the best forests in the world and usually a very high class entry. P1ss up in Ambleside or Conistone the night before is a must.
Further info. Google them. They all have web sites and will have more info than I can give you.
We would particularly like a good shout through Yorkshire on the RAC if you'd be so kind.

Due to finances at the moment, I look to be missing a few of these this year...desperately hoping to make the RAC, but not looking good!
Although I can that Dave is right about it being a top event for true enthusiasts!
There was a cracking bunch running last year from Honda powered Minis to Escorts all the way upto Porsche 911's and a Saab V4
Absolutely corking day which signaled my return to Rally Spectatorship and I loved every single moment of it!

Well if we can arrange a pub meet between the lot of us then I'm sure we can arrange a rally meet to watch some action, do we think?

Not a bad idea as it goes
The RAC is a good one to watch for those who know it
Oh and don't trust a sat nav to take you to the forests...because they don't...at all....ANYWHERE SODDING NEAR! Piece of s

Which one have you got? I'm driving one of the course cars on the Trackrod again and have all the stage starts in my TomTom.
t!ETA: I know it's out of area but is anyone doing/going to the Tour of Mull?

That calendar is a right pain! I've a stag do in Tallin, a Sporting Bears weekend at the NEC Classic, my nans 90th birthday and babysitting duties on 4 of those weekends.
I'm attempt to combine babysitting with Yorkshire forest stages but can't see the combination winning me any points.

It's been a funny old year calendar wise..many events seem to have clashed with others!I'm attempt to combine babysitting with Yorkshire forest stages but can't see the combination winning me any points.
Phil, you anywhere near us on October 11th? How about those drinks on the 18th?

Got plans with the missus on the 11th I'm afraid. The drinks on the 18th are a possibility though, not sure of plans but also looking at the Yorkshire Breakfast meet on the 19th. Woolleson and I are planning going to Oulton Park for the Dunlop Tuscan/Saggyarse Challenge
Hope to see you on the 18th the old pal, that would be great

Scott/Leigh/Others - I'll tag along for a couple of these if thats ok ? Already got the trackrod rally in the diary, and the grizedal stages - I know Dalby and Grizedale areas very well (my other live as a daredevil mtb'er) and all the shortcuts through the forests, so well up for those.
Also - seconding the comments on the RAC, last year was superb, saw a few of you up there, great rally and as said, great entries and spectator event.
Great thread Greensleeves, much apprectiated.

Bwoooarrrrp!

Last year was brilliant, even Woolleson and I becoming hopelessly lost in Dalby AND driving up to Scarborough to sit on the seafront eating fish butties

I was knackered for days after, but what a time
