Speed Six 'Data Connection Lead' - Anyone Got One?
Discussion
I’ve got the dreaded EFI fault up again (on a Tuscan MK1).
It’s the 'O' - No communications between analogue and control fault.
I’m fairly sure it was caused by leaving the car out in the pouring rain. Last time it happened I took it to Harrogate Horseless, but I would rather avoid the trail over there and an invoice to match.
Has anyone got a ECU TO LAPTOP DIAGNOSTIC DATA LEAD I could borrow to see if I can down load the software to clear it? (It’s the 3 pin one for all the Speed Six engines).
I suspect this will happen occasionally, so I will buy one if it works, but I would like to try it out first before I splash anymore cash on the problem!
Thanks
BB

When you say 3 pin cable do you mean an actual 3 pin cable or a 9 pin serial cable with only 3 wires going through it.
I only ask as I thought the Cerbera one was similar and that is a 9 pin connector with 3 wires connected. If thats the one then I can send you a diagram and it's very easy to make with a soldering iron and parts from Maplins.
Or... ask on the Tuscan forum if you haven't already. Someone there must have the schematics or know where to get the parts. TVR's weren't exactly the height of technology (I've been through Cerb ownership so I can say that
) so most components like that are Maplins specials (or Farnell)

I have a Cerbera and mine is the 3 pin same as the Tuscan, you would be welcome to pop in and try my cable and laptop, only thing is I am in South Sheffield.
Hi KevinThanks for the offer.
As you have the cable and laptop I presume you have had similar EFI problems. Is it s simple process to re-set?
Im in Batley, so I not a million miles from you. Which junction off the M1 is nearest to you?

Just to update:
I down loaded the diagnostic software from http://www.mytuscan.co.uk and connected to the ECU using a home made cable.
Everything appeared to be ok, so I just cancelled the fault, and everythings now back to normal.
Thanks for the offers of help, much appreciated.

Glad you got it sorted quickly
If I had known you were such a wizard

I would have let you mend my broken cylinder head gasket
Hopefully get the car back today after 10 days in the garage
inc 4 studs on the exhaust manifold having to be helicoiled
the heads being scimmed and crack tested (had both done for safety)
and worst of all one of the main bolts on the engine also needing helicoiling
(and in fact probably causing the gasket problem in the first place)
Also had the Plenum and rocker covers polished up while off the engine
All I need now is to win the lottery on Saturday to pay for it all
(Definate "wife Receipt" necessary on this one!!!)
See you soon
Cheers
