A couple of years ago I needed an RV8 rebuilding and stumbled across a website of a guy based in North Yorkshire, possibly Ripon area who did this sort of work.Does anyone know who he is? Not much a clue I know but I remember that there was a testimonial on from a guy in Durham who had an engine put into a Cobra replica. Thanks for any help.
I know one person who could do it that I can only recommend as, the person who knows more about the workings of the internal combustion engine than anyone else I know, and I know a few.
He looked after my TVR Griffith 500, looks after my Ferrari and BMW, he has a penchant for RV8s and knows them inside out, and he rebuilt the BMW MotorSport V12 in his 850 CSi just because he thought it could do with one.
He is in West Yorkshire, goes by the name of Michael and is better known on here as Talkwrench.
Drop him a line and have a chat, it will cost you nothing

Thank you for that glowing testimonial, Al.
If anyone ever does need an RV8 rebuilding, tuning, modifying or working on in any way, I'd be delighted to help. I've done several in the past and they are, in my opinion, a splendid little powerhouse with great potential

Whats with the name change?
Any idea where I can get a Villiers 98cc 2f engine?
Long story involving too much alcohol but I'm now the proud owner of a 1956 Hudson autocycle but it doesn't have an engine.

As you might have guessed Paul, my subversive nature landed me in hot water with the PH planning dept!!Whats with the name change?

And no I can't help you with the Villiers engine my friends probably got several of, seeing as you never came around in the Noble!
No worries. I'll look into it for you. Stand by for phone call

My friends advice was to scrap the Autocycle, lol.
That might be what happens. Its a bit of a mess and probably gonna cost 5x plus what it might ever be worth and I'm crap on bikes so whether I'd ever ride it is a different issue. If one could be found then I'll have a think about it

Ray,There was a chap that was based near Ripon did quality RV8 work. He did a lot of work for Harrogate Horselss Carriages when they had a good reputation...
Tony at Hexham (used to work at Harrogate) may remember the company, I thing the chaps name was Chris. Hexhams Number is 01434 601666
